Links to warmups and heat sheets for the Long Course State Championship are below.  Final heat sheets will be posted on DAC’s website 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.  Click here to view the 8 and Under Development Meet heat sheets.  As a reminder, there will be no practice on Thursday, July 22nd and Friday, July 23rd due to the State Meet in Cleveland.

The City pool pump is still down. Practice has been cancelled for Tuesday, July 20th.

Practice for state swimmers is at Wyatt’s Gym from 6:45am to 8am.

It’s Open Water Swim time!  Check out the page for VSA’s Open Water Swim Gator Bait at Eagle Lake.  The USA Swimming and USMS sanctioned open water swim will be held at Eagle Lake on August 28th.  Registration forms are available for download.  Registration will also be available on active.com from July 7th to August 26th.

The Biloxi Splash the Coast Swim Meet will be held on June 25th – 27th.  VSA will be attending this meet as a team.  Please click on the link to view the meet invitationwith warm up times, location, the list of events, etc.  Please notice the events begin with an early morning session on Friday.  Also, all 10 & U, 8 & U, and 6 & U events are swum in the middle session each day.  Please sign up ASAP.  The deadline to get your entries to Coach Mixon is Thursday, June 17th at noon.  If you would like to attend but are unsure of what events to choose please respond, “Coach Pick.”  Please remember there are not many opportunities to make your state qualifying times so this meet’s attendance is a must.  If you are attending the meet, please go ahead and reserve your hotel room now.  There is a car show that same weekend and available rooms are limited.

THANK YOU!  The Stamm Family Invitational 2010 was a major success due to the overwhelming support provided by our VSA families.  Thank you for the countless number of hours that went in to preparation for this event.  I was blown away with the support that you parents are willing to provide in helping your children reach their goals.  VSA is your organization and you represented it well this weekend!  Thanks again for your support.

The HEAT is here and school is almost out, it’s time to dive in the POOL. 

It’s time for Summer Swim League!

June 7th – July 16th (M-F) at Wyatt’s Gym Pool
10am – 10:45am or 10:45am – 11:30am (Time based on age and swim level)
Ages 5 -18
Cost $75

Coach Mathew Mixon of the Vicksburg Swim Association will instruct your children in all four proper swim stroke techniques. Swim Meets are held every Monday evening. All levels of swimming are welcomed.

There will be a quick Parent Meeting on Tuesday, May 25th at 5:45pm at the City Pool.  All parents are asked to attend as we will be discussing everyone’s roles in the upcoming Stamm Family Invitational Swim Meet.
