We will NOT practice on Saturday, March 6th due to the Run Thru History,  Coach Mixon would like to encourage all swimmers and parents to get out and participate in this event.  The event includes a 10K Run, 5K Walk and a 1 Mile Fun Run.  Get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery at the Vicksburg Military Park.  Don’t forget to support our organization and wear your VSA attire.

Regular practice resumes today, Wednesday, February 24th, at Wyatt’s.  For those swimmers attending the second practice session, please bring proper DRY-LAND attire including a pair of running shoes (no sandals, crocs, slides, etc.).

VSA Short Course State Team

VSA has a fundraiser scheduled for Tuesday, February 23rd at McAlister’s Deli. Please ask all of your family and friends to support VSA by dining at McAlister’s between 5pm and 9pm on Tuesday. All swimmers ages 10 and up are asked to volunteer and bus tables. Volunteers will work an hour shift and should wear closed toe shoes and their VSA t-shirt. Please email Patti Stone if you are able to help.

State Meet Qualifiers and Parents:
Please note we will be swimming the 12 and Under morning sessions in the deep end of the pool.  When the younger swimmers finish, the distance events will be split by gender.  Boys will swim in the deep end on Friday and Sunday; girls will swim in the deep end on Saturday.  Check out the warm-up and timer lane assignments and the psyche sheet.

Also, check out the list of events that each swimmer is entered in for the upcoming state meet in Laurel.  As a reminder parents, there are relays swum in both the morning and afternoon sessions.  Most swimmers will need to be present during both sessions for relay purposes.  Coach Mixon will send out a list of tenative relay teams in the next day or so.  They are subject to change based on performance and outside factors, but it will give you an idea of what to expect.  If you have any questions, please give Coach Mixon a call as soon as possible.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  VSA will practice the normal schedule on Monday and Wednesday at Wyatt’s Gym.  Tuesday’s practice at the YMCA will be reserved for swimmers attending state meet ONLY.  Practice will be from 6pm to 7:15pm with a Fire It Up pasta dinner immediately following in the Y Rec Room.  Good Luck to all VSA swimmers representing our team in the upcoming State Championship in Laurel, MS Friday through Sunday!  Due to the state meet there will be no practice Thursday, February 18th through Monday, February 22nd.  We also will not have practice on Tuesday, February 23rd due to our fundraiser at McAlister’s Deli.  VSA will resume the normal practice schedule on Wednesday, February 24 at the normal time.  Recap:
