8 & Under Developmental Meet
January 12th, 2012Sunkist is hosting the 8 & Under Spring Developmental Meet on February 11 at the Flowood YMCA. It is a one day meet for all 8 and under swimmers. This is a fun opportunity for our young swimmers to compete in a swim meet and it is the last short course meet of the season for 8 and under. Swimmers can participate in up to 5 events. Please review the meet invite and let Coach Mixon know if you are attending the meet by February 1.
DAC’s Charlene Craddock
January 2nd, 2012DAC’s Charlene Craddock Invitational is scheduled for January 27 – 29 at Delta State University’s top notch facility in Cleveland, MS. Please review the meet invitation and email Coach Mixon prior to Wednesday, January 18 if you plan on attending the meet. Please note this is one of your final opportunities to get your state qualifying times.
VSA Sprints for Fast Times
December 12th, 2011VSA Killer Whales sprinted for fast times at the Sunkist Sprint for Christmas. Bree Butler, Rachel Chappell, Katelyn Clark, Meredith Cole, Carley Copelin, Starling Devine, Mallory Claire Dickey, Katie Fox, Victoria Gong, Julianna Juve, Alex Chappell, Connor Clark, Carter Dickey, Justin Glass, Joey Greer, Johnathan Juve, Mason Lee, David Osburn, Eli Thomas, Andrew Ulmer and Cody Wheelock all had fantastic swims this past weekend. Check out the results. A Killer Whale congratulations goes out to Bree Butler for winning Girls 6 and Under High Points. Way to go VSA!
Reindeer Dash & Chrsitmas Party

It is the battle for the fastest reindeer. Please join us as Team Blitzen and Team Comet race to throw a pie at the losing coach’s face. VSA is celebrating the holiday season with a Reindeer Dash and Party on Tuesday, December 20 at the YMCA. All White, Black and Bronze Pods are invited to participate in the Reindeer Dash Intra-squad Meet. Silver and Gold Pods, we need your help with the meet! Please review the meet invite and email Coach Mixon which events your swimmer would like to participate in by Thursday, December 15. Warm ups are at 5 p.m. with the meet beginning at 5:30 p.m. A party in the YMCA party room will follow the swim meet with a guest appearance by Santa. Parents are asked to bring party food: appetizers, desserts, drinks, and paper goods as listed below. Also, if you would like to bring any additional items not in your category, that is fine too. Please email Ana Clark what items you will bring, so that she can make sure all areas are taken care of.

Santa’s BEST Swim Meet
November 20th, 2011VSA will be traveling to Biloxi for their Santa’s BEST Swim Meet which is scheduled for December 2nd—4th. Swim meets in Biloxi are always fun. The pool is great and there is so much do…nice theaters, good restaurants and a fabulous outlet mall. Check out the invite and let Coach Mixon know if you would like to attend by Wednesday, November 23.

Sunkist Sprint to Christmas
November 8th, 2011The Sunkist Sprint to Christmas is scheduled for Saturday, December 10th. Check out the invite. Please email Coach Mixon if you would like to attend the meet by Wednesday, December 2nd. This is a fun meet and we would like to encourage as many 12 and Under swimmers to attend as possible. Wear your VSA apparel and Santa’s hat. Sunkist is asking each family to bring a new unwrapped toy in support of Toys for Tots.
