Summer is here!  That means it’s time for our annual Stamm Family Invitational at the Vicksburg City Pool.  Great ready for a weekend of fun times and fast swimming on the banks of the “Mighty Mississippi.”  The meet is scheduled for June 1-3, 2012.  We have a great one day short course meet on Friday for 10 & Under. Friday afternoon we’re flipping the ropes for the 1500 and three days of long course fun.  We have a newly designed event format.  Hopefully, this will help cut down on the number of hours on deck and help to optimize the coolest part of the day.  Also, new this year…… “Splash for Cash.”  Earn some extra dough for your team!  Check out the invitation on our Stamm Family Invitational meet page.  Entries are due to Coach Mixon by Sunday, May 27.  Sign up today!

The Makos Long Course Invitational is scheduled for May 4-6 at the Lakeland Courthouse in Jackson.  Click on the link to view the invite.  Other than our Stamm Meet, this is the only “local” swim meet opportunity remaining this long course season.  As Jackson is just a short drive away, we are encouraging MAXIMUM participation. Sign up today!  Killer Whales are known as one of the world’s most powerful predators and they swim in pods of up to 40.  Our Killer Whale Pod needs to take over the Lakeland Courthouse.  Email Coach Mixon at vsacoach@gmail.com by Friday, April 20 to sign up for the meet.  GO VSA Killer WHALES!

Practice for Monday, April 2 at Wyatt’s Gym has been cancelled due to the weather.

This weekend VSA is participating in the our first long course meet of the season…Monroe’s Gold Rush Invitational.  There will be no practice on Friday, March 30 due to the meet.

Wyatt’s practice on Monday, March 19 has been cancelled.

Also, due to swimming lessons at the YMCA,  practice on Tuesday and Thursday has been modified for the next three weeks.  Beginning Tuesday, March 20, White and Black Pods (normal practice time of 5 p.m.) will practice at 6 p.m. with the Bronze Pods.  Our regular practice schedule will resume on Tuesday, April 10.

VSA is headed to Monroe, LA March 30 through April 1 for the Gold Rush Invitational.  Click on the link to view the meet invite.  Sign up today for VSA’s first meet of the Long Course Season!  Entries must be emailed to Coach Mixon by Wednesday, March 21.

The YMCA pool has not reopened.  Practice has been cancelled for Thursday, March 1.

The YMCA closed the pool a day early.  There is no VSA practice today, February 28.  Check back for the status of Thursday’s practice as there is a possibility that it will reopen in time.
