The City pool pump is still down. Practice has been cancelled for Tuesday, July 20th.

Practice for state swimmers is at Wyatt’s Gym from 6:45am to 8am.

The Biloxi Splash the Coast Swim Meet will be held on June 25th – 27th.  VSA will be attending this meet as a team.  Please click on the link to view the meet invitationwith warm up times, location, the list of events, etc.  Please notice the events begin with an early morning session on Friday.  Also, all 10 & U, 8 & U, and 6 & U events are swum in the middle session each day.  Please sign up ASAP.  The deadline to get your entries to Coach Mixon is Thursday, June 17th at noon.  If you would like to attend but are unsure of what events to choose please respond, “Coach Pick.”  Please remember there are not many opportunities to make your state qualifying times so this meet’s attendance is a must.  If you are attending the meet, please go ahead and reserve your hotel room now.  There is a car show that same weekend and available rooms are limited.

THANK YOU!  The Stamm Family Invitational 2010 was a major success due to the overwhelming support provided by our VSA families.  Thank you for the countless number of hours that went in to preparation for this event.  I was blown away with the support that you parents are willing to provide in helping your children reach their goals.  VSA is your organization and you represented it well this weekend!  Thanks again for your support.

It’s time for Summer Swim League!

June 7th – July 16th (M-F) at Wyatt’s Gym Pool
10am – 10:45am or 10:45am – 11:30am (Time based on age and swim level)
Ages 5 -18
Cost $75

Coach Mathew Mixon of the Vicksburg Swim Association will instruct your children in all four proper swim stroke techniques. Swim Meets are held every Monday evening. All levels of swimming are welcomed.

There will be a quick Parent Meeting on Tuesday, May 25th at 5:45pm at the City Pool.  All parents are asked to attend as we will be discussing everyone’s roles in the upcoming Stamm Family Invitational Swim Meet. 

Swim practices will be held at their normal scheduled times.

Online ordering for VSA logo swimsuits is now open until Friday, April 30th.  Female swimsuits are $50 and male swimsuits are $34.  Free shipping applies to orders over $50.    Swimsuits will arrive in time for our upcoming Stamm Family Invitational Swim Meet.  Follow the directions below to order your suit.

It’s Spring and there are great fundraising opportunities for everyone.

• It’s a grocery bag, toy bag, trip bag, lunch bag, beach bag, an anything bag…it’s a MIXED BAG.  These cute bright “green” (not the color) bags are the latest craze.  They make terrific teacher, Mother’s Day or birthday gifts and can be monogramed for only $6.  Our goal is for each family to sell $100 and all orders are due by April 20th.  Click on Mixed Bags to download an order form and note that the department store bags for the City Lights and Rings patterns are out of stock.  Please contact Heather Butler with any questions. 
• Our Stamm Invitational Swim Meet is just around the corner and everyone is asked to sell $200 in heat sheet ads.  Click on heat sheets to download the Heat Sheet contract form.   Our community is a strong supporter of VSA so get out there and visit our local businesses.  You will be surprised by their generosity.

We will NOT practice on Saturday, March 6th due to the Run Thru History,  Coach Mixon would like to encourage all swimmers and parents to get out and participate in this event.  The event includes a 10K Run, 5K Walk and a 1 Mile Fun Run.  Get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery at the Vicksburg Military Park.  Don’t forget to support our organization and wear your VSA attire.
