The Sunkist Sprint to Christmas is scheduled for Saturday, December 10th.  Check out the invite.  Please email Coach Mixon if you would like to attend the meet by Wednesday, December 2nd.  This is a fun meet and we would like to encourage as many 12 and Under swimmers to attend as possible.  Wear your VSA apparel and Santa’s hat.  Sunkist is asking  each family to bring a new unwrapped toy in support of Toys for Tots.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS goes out to the following VSA swimmers.  They obtained a top 5 time in the state of Mississippi during the 2010 short course and/or 2011 long course seasons.  This is a great accomplishment!  Keep up the hard work Killer Whales.

Our Mixed Bags Fundraiser was a great success and now VSA is supplementing the cost to charter a bus for the SWAT Coca Cola Fall Invitational November 19.  Swimmers and family members are invited to sign up to ride together to the one day meet in Starkville.  Moms and Dads can look forward to saving money on gas and wear and tear on their vehicles…just sit back, relax, and enjoy a movie.  The cost is $15 per person.  To sign up, complete the Charter Bus Agreement and return it to Ana Clark.  Seating is limited to 54 so don’t delay…sign up today.

Sunkist is hosting their annual Short Course Classic September 16 to 18 at the Flowood YMCA.  This is a great meet for our swimmers as we are back in short course season and Flowood is a quick drive away.  Check out the meet invite.  Please let Coach Mixon know by Tuesday, September 6 if you will be  attending and which events you would like to participate in.  Let’s support VSA and bring a big group of Killer Whales to this fun meet.

It’s that time of year when USA Swimming forms are due.  Please download your form today.  Completed forms are due to Sabrina with a $54 check made out to Mississippi Swimming before October 31.  Our club code is VSAI and please don’t forget to sign the form.  As a reminder, all swimmers must submit a completed form by the due date in order to be eligible for swim meets.
