The City Pool is closed due to the weather, so today’s practice has been cancelled.

The Vicksburg Swim Association would like to invite you to attend the
Stamm Family Invitation in Memory of Alan Ebersole June 4th through 6th.  The meet offers a great opportunity for three days of competition and good times. Clickbelow to view the meet  invite and team event files for the Friday short course and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday long course meets.  Please send two TM entry files, one for short course and one for long course.  Coaches please notice that the 12 & U 400 free has been added to the Friday afternoon session. Remember if you have a younger swimmer that would like to swim the 400 in the afternoon session, you must save them a spot on the max entries per day.  The mile will now be swum as an open event and scored 14&Under and 15&Over. Coach Mixon will be attending Warren Central’s Athletic Banquet on Thursday, May 13th, so practice has been cancelled.

Beginning June 1st, VSA will switch to the morning practice schedule. Below are the times, if you have any questions please ask Coach Mixon.

Monday – Friday
6:00am-8:15am – Swim Practice for Older Group (Swimmers currently attending 6:15pm-7:15pm practice)
8:15am-8:45am – Dry-Land Training for Older Group
Older Group must bring property dry-land attire, e.g. running shoes, no flip flops or Crocs.

7:15am-8:15am – Swim Practice for Younger Group (Swimmers currently attending 5:15pm-6:15pm practice)

Due to the recent warm weather, practice is moving to the City Pool beginning today. The water will be a little chilly, so make certain to bring your warm clothes and a towel for after practice.  Practice times will also change so that we are practicing when the sun is out and the air temperature is warm.  The new practice times are in effect until June 1st when we move to morning practice times.

5:15pm – 6:15pm – Younger Group (usually practices at 6pm at the YMCA)
6:15pm – 7:15pm – Older Group (usually practices at 7pm at the YMCA)

Please note Friday and Saturday practice has been cancelled due to the Makos Long Course Swim Meet at the Lakeland Courthouse Jackson.

It’s Spring and there are great fundraising opportunities for everyone.

• It’s a grocery bag, toy bag, trip bag, lunch bag, beach bag, an anything bag…it’s a MIXED BAG.  These cute bright “green” (not the color) bags are the latest craze.  They make terrific teacher, Mother’s Day or birthday gifts and can be monogramed for only $6.  Our goal is for each family to sell $100 and all orders are due by April 20th.  Click on Mixed Bags to download an order form and note that the department store bags for the City Lights and Rings patterns are out of stock.  Please contact Heather Butler with any questions. 
• Our Stamm Invitational Swim Meet is just around the corner and everyone is asked to sell $200 in heat sheet ads.  Click on heat sheets to download the Heat Sheet contract form.   Our community is a strong supporter of VSA so get out there and visit our local businesses.  You will be surprised by their generosity.
