There is a swim meet at the City Pool on Monday, so practice is cancelled.  If you donated items for Gator Bait please stop by the pool to pick up your items.

Now that the City Pool is closed for recreational swimming, please see our practice times below.  

Black, Bronze, Silver, Gold – Monday through Friday 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. -  6 p.m.

White – Tuesday and Thursday 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.

VSA will NOT practice on Friday, August 26 due to the Gator Bait setup.

Last call for the Gator Bait Triathlon and Open Water Swim!  Registration ends Wednesday, August 24.  Sign up now at www.imATHLETE.com for the Olympic Distance Triathlon (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run).  Or sign up at www.active.com for the 1.5k, 0.6k or 0.3k Open Water Swims.  The fun begins in Eagle Lake at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27.  You don’t want to miss this.

VSA is hosting two FREE try it weeks in August.  Click on the link to check out our flyer.  Bring your child to the City Pool during the dates and hours listed below and we will give you some information about our organization while your child participates in swim practice.  Don’t forget to bring a bathing suit, goggles, and towel.

Monday, August 15 – Thursday, August 18:  5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday, August 22 – Thursday, August 25:  4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Swimmers must swim 25 yards unassisted to join team.

Please note the following practice schedule changes due to the upcoming Long Course State Meet.  The changes are highlighted in yellow.  There will be no afternoon practice on Thursday, July 21, no practice on Friday, July 22 and no morning practices from July 25th through July 29th.  We resume the regular practice schedule Monday, August 1.  

Please let Coach Mixon know by the end of the day if you would like to attend the 8 & Under State Meet in Cleveland, Mississippi.  Swimmers do not have to qualify to attend this short course meet.  Click on the link to view the invitation.  This is a great opportunity for our young swimmers to prepare for future state competitions.  We need at least 6 swimmers to participate in order for our team to attend.

After a successful Splash and Dash, it is time to sign up for Long Course State Meet.  The LC State Meet will be held Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24 in Cleveland, Mississippi.  Click on the link to view the meet invite.
